Palestinian Thobe
What is a Thobe?
Tatreez is an ancient embroidery technique that dates from the Canaanite people who lived in the Arab region, 3000 years ago.
It has been used for centuries by Palestinians - different colours and patterns symbolising social and community status.
It also symbolizes the traditional lifestyle of Palestinians. Embroidery became an important symbol of the culture and documents the Palestinian history and preserves their culture to express themselves creatively, united as communities who support themselves and their families.
